One thing that I've seen is that a father will get an announcement and a baby moodlet even if the mother doesn't live with him and I don't control her. If he's one to go running around with more than one woman and trying for babies, he doesn't know that someone is even pregnant. But when the child is born, I get the announcement that he's the father of a baby girl or boy and the moodlet appears. I'd like to hear other stories, too, and whether the mother's husband would get the moodlet. I sort of think he wouldn't because the game knows he's not the baby's father.
