Need "sore" buff
« on: June 12, 2011, 06:58:15 PM »
For the Fountain of Legend quest, my puny character needs a "sore" buff to compete the quest.  I've waited a few days for it to randomly happen (according to the wiki, it's supposed to random), and even started a few fistfights.  Is there anything else I can do other than just wait?  Ctrl-clicking to skip the step doesn't seem to work, either, and I'd rather not have to quit the quest.

This is one quest that I managed to mess up.  My hero had to do something - can't remember what now but the instruction was there on what to do to get the 'sore' buff.  Once she had it, I let her wander off to attend to something else and she lost the 'sore buff'.  I could not get it back again and ended up restarting the quest.  I wonder if you have done something similar without noticing.

I haven't ever had to get a puny sim sore, but I've read that playing the fiddle will do it.  And since that's portable and in their inventory, it would be convenient if it works.

Playing the fiddle definitely is the right choice.  You can purchase it at the Village.

Just beware that you Sim with  start to play it on their own if you leave it in their inventory after that quest is over.  Normally they will not play it well at all ;).

I will try that, then.  I'm not sure *how* playing a fiddle makes one sore (as opposed to getting into fistfights), but I will try it out.  Thanks :)

You can also become Sore from whittling. Just click on your Sim and select 'Whittle.' Look, you made a horsey!

That is an excellent idea crabbandit and welcome to the forum.

Whittling would save the trip to the village and the cost of the fiddle purchase.  Plus you would have lots of wooden horses to sell for extra cash 8).
