Game Freezing frequently

Er...that's not correct.   Only programs that are currently running use up RAM.  So it doesn't matter how many games you have on your computer, as long as you're not running them all at the same time, it's irrelevant.

Has anyone else had more problems with freezing since the latest patch?  My game was running fine before I patched it and now it freezes almost every time I create a new hero.  I can't tell you how many times I've had to go back and redo quests because I forgot to save  before entering CAS.  Very annoying.

I have had the same issue as OP. My game frequently freezes when attempting to leave CaS. My fiance has the same issue. Hers freezes a little more frequently, or maybe she plays more We both have decent enough computers to handle the game. I have AMD phenom II 965 Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, and she has AMD phenom II 1055 processor Windows Vista Ultimate. We both have geforce gtx 460 1gb graphics cards, 8gb RAM. Neither of us are running any mods. The only thing changed from base game is that we have created our own patterns in our favorites so we could decorate the clothes better. I am reluctant to try without the patterns because it took some time to create them all. I am wondering if OP has these custom patterns. I haven't been able to find much about this issue except for this thread so far.

EDIT: I am narrowing down the problem with our computers and I'm on the phone with EA tech support lvl 2. So far it seems that it may be because my fiance and I have created patterns to use in CaS by saving fabrics, leathers, stone, etc. into favorites so we could use them to design clothes in CaS. EA is currently trying to recreate the issue I am having. I am curious if anyone else with this problem might have the created patterns. I will update this when I get off the phone with EA if I have any more relevant information.

EDIT 2: I have just finished talking to EA tech support and they weren't able to recreate the issue on the computer they had which was an xp machine with just above minimum requirements. They are sending it to tier 3 technicians possibly for patch review. Fingers crossed they have an answer via email.

It does freeze occasionally on my computer, but usually I can go ctrl-alt-del and stop it running from the task manager, and then start it up again. Because I'm so paranoid about saving, my last save usually isn't very far behind. I think this may be because I have too many programs running in the background and my computer can't quite keep up.

My game has become more jerky since the patch. The further into it I get, the jerkier it gets. I'm not sure if it has to do with the number of game saves I have (every step I make a new save, so about 45), or custom furniture patterns. I suspect though, that it may have to do with the number of sims that get generated as the game progresses. Every time you have a responsibility that requires delivering to someone, or converting 2 new peterans/jacobans the game generates more npcs. The longer I play without quitting it gets jerkier too. It's a little smoother if I restart the game, but not by much. Having 3x speed is not necessary at the moment, because it never goes that fast anyway. The game freezes in CAS if I try to use a saved custom pattern, and I have the same problem of saved sims being VERY slow to load. It's also slow coming out of buy mode.

My gamepS3 hacks froze one time, I think right after finishing my first quest.  The entire computer froze hack wifi(I couldn't move the mouse, couldn't ctrl+alt+del), but after five or so minutes it fixed itself and hasn't happened since.  Sometimes after placing a building, it will go to desktop, then switch back to the game and hack xbox 360everything is fine.  Sorry I couldn't help more.  Maybe try putting your settings to as low of detail as possible.
