Saves Folder
« on: June 15, 2011, 01:26:08 PM »
Can I make a different saves folder for my challenges? One for my reg games?

I know going in and doing the cut and paste is a pain, but I'm fine with doing that. I just had that thought and wanted to ask before doing it. I was always told that no question was too dumb to ask.

Thanks

You mean like an actual file on your computer? I don't see why not.
But will the game register both files? What I mean is, will any saves in Save Folder 2 still be recognized?

I would not put both files in at the same time. You know how when we install a new EP, and we make a back up? Well I keep a current back of my saves on my external hard drive at all times. Every night at the end of the evening, before I head to bed, I copy and update the file that is on that drive. Because in case I have any glitches or problems to show up like I did yesterday. I traveled to Egypt, and when she returned, the 2 kids were unselectable and Chris was no longer showing on his panel as married to Agnes, but she was showing as married to Chris.

The whole save was very glitchy. So I deleted that saves folder, copied the one that was on the external, and pasted in the file.

You should be able to store any number of save files anywhere on your hard drive, as long as you know where they are so you can place them back in the game file to play it.

I'm moving this topic to the Technical Help board.

Thanks Pam.. I think doing this way will help with load times and keep my reg. games separate from my challenges, etc. I thought about the Technical Help Board, but wasn't to sure, but I knew you would point me in the right direction.  ;D  That is why I love this site.  ;)
