No Career Opportunities

Recently, I noted that the career opportunities never pop up.
Once my sim worked in Journalism Career for over 12 weeks. She never received any career opportunities.
As I known "testingcheatsenabled" can trigger event by shift-click on the building. However, it doesn't work in Bridgeport as the most buildings are combined in ones.

Do you by chance have opportunities suppressed?  It's an option on the Game Options menu.

Also, I'm moving this to Miscellaneous Help because it's about game play and not the mechanics of the game.

I never chose "suppress opportunities" in the option menu.
Furthermore, other opportunities still work fine.

This might also be something you've already considered, but she doesn't have an unfulfilled career opportunity already, one that would stop her from receiving further ones?
