How Do You Get Them to Fight?

My adventurous sim, Renee, has brave trait, level 10 MA and athletic.  When I had her do the Jean Necteraux tomb, which was a booger btw, she got the wish to defeat a mummy after she came out of the big room where she opened the 2 sarcophagi and prompted the 2 mummies to come out.  I had her drink courage (as an extra measure) and go back in the room because I wanted to see her kick some mummy buttocks. When the first mummy reached her, all she did was cringe.    He took her mummy snacks and turned and went another direction.  The second one got all the way up to her, which she cringed again and probably because she has the eye candy, he turned and also went another direction.  All I could do was yell, "get in there and fight you coward."  I know this is not the way all of them act because I've seen pictures.   How do I get her to fight a mummy?

Try walking up to them (are there any options if you click on them?)

If you have mummy snacks in your inventory they will think nothing but good about you and leave you alone. If you're clean from bribes, you can fight them, not as much as that you click on them and tell your sim to fight, but the mummy itself will take the initiative if you come near.

If they still leave you alone, I suppose you should according to the game-designers feel relieved. However because I know this is rarely the case, I can just recommend for you to try again to antagonize the poor undead and hope he'll attack you on his own.

I agree with what Swede said.  The choice to fight is really up to the mummy.  Mummy Snacks are a deterrent, so get rid of them.  Keep trying for a mummy who will attack.

As someone who has fought a LOT of mummies......Swede and Pam are right, you can't initiate the fight. There are no interactions that you can do with a mummy. I always had my sim try to antagonize them by singing "Oh Where is My Mummy" (which you can learn from the locals in Egypt) but sometimes, they actually seemed to like the singing. I've decided that the mummies in the tombs must have different personalities just like the sims because some of them seem to be meaner than others.

Get rid of your mummy snacks and eventually, a mummy will start a fight with your sim. (I put my mummy snacks in a chest for safe keeping since you can only get them in Egypt)

Thanks for the suggestions all!  I will take mummy snacks out and see what happens.  But does your sims cringe in front of the mummy?  See, this is the part I don't understand. She kicks burglars' rears all the time...sometimes as high as 2-3 in a sim week, and has fought a couple of fires.    Rockin, did your sim cringe before she beat him up?

I appreciate all the suggestions.    I am not afraid to be cursed as she has gone through the sphynx before and it would be nuttin to get the cleansing.

If you considered yourself brave would you be a little freaked out if a Mummy came out of a sarcophocgus? Do you mean like cower or just cringe like 'eugh thats disgusting!'

When I've fought mummies, my sim doesn't cringe. Instead he goes through that martial arts animation that looks like some sort of tai chi.

No bshag, my sim doesn't cringe when she sees a mummy, but then she has the brave trait, so she's not afraid of much. I have played sims that do that though, so I know what you're talking about. My fearless sim that has beaten a lot of mummies, basically kinda leans back on her heels and gives them the "Do you REALLY want to fight me" look.    I have several pictures of her and her mummy adventures on one of the other threads about mummies.

  I saw your "so you wanna piece of me?" chickie sim...that's what I'm talking about.  My sim has brave trait, all MA and athletic skills, plus had a dose of liquid courage as well and she ducked with her hands over her head when the mummy came up to her.    She should've been like your little deck em now, ask questions later gal.  

Yeah samoht, "I" could get upset and scared, but with all the fire power Renee had, she should've been able to chew him up and spit him out.  Instead, I found myself yelling, get in there and fight like a man.

I think the cringe is just the animation when the mummy isn't going to fight your Sim.  Nothing to do with traits or athletic/martial arts skill.  It's like, your Sim thinks the mummy is going to attack and cringes, but then the mummy doesn't do anything.

The teen girl sim I was playing awhile back cringed when the mummy came near her, and she ended up being cursed even though the mummy did not attack her.

Bshag....I'm not sure why your sim isn't acting fearless like mine is if she has the brave trait. Maybe it has to do with meeting all the MA challenges? My sim has got the 75 sparring fights under her belt so she's a Grand Master and she has all the meditation hours...I think it's 150.
