Hidden Skills
« on: May 17, 2011, 03:08:06 PM »
I'm wondering if there are hidden skills like The Sims 3 because my level 10 Queen was playing the fiddle, and my level 10 wizard got a bad buff. It said you call that music and it had a picture of a broken fiddle. :o

For the truly wronged, satisfaction can be found in one of two places,  absolute forgiveness or mortal vindication. This is not a story about forgiveness. When deception cuts this deep, someone has to pay.

There are a few hidden skills and the fiddle is one of them. The other three is Kingball, whittling, and the game table (where your Sims can bet money). You can increase their skill in in them by having them practice.

Interestingly, Sims with the fatal flaw Fool do not build up their hidden skills.

I have to question the whittling hidden skill.  My queen made dozens of little horses and never made anything else.  I'd heard that they'll start making different things eventually, but I couldn't get it to happen.

Maybe rather than making something different, their pieces just get to be worth more when sold as they gain skill?  I haven't tested it personally, but I had one of my heroes sell one once and it brought 15 simoles.  I'll have to test it out by trying to sell them periodically.
