My Sim Child Died

Hey,

My sim child was playing in the pool, (I wasn't controlling her at the time) and she died from drowning. She was tired, but I left her in the pooling thinking that sim children can't die.

I've also had my teen die from a fire (a different family).

Can Sim children really die? Or is it a bug?

Children can die, but only from certain types of deaths. For example, Children cannot starve to death (Social Services get them before that) and they cannot be electruted, but they can drown, die in fires, and be killed by a meteor. (I think) Teens can die from all unnatural causes except thirst. (since Teens vampires don't have a thirst meter)
