Fertilizing with fish question
« on: April 27, 2011, 06:36:24 PM »
I've read the guides at the Carl's guide site about gardening and the benefits of fertilizing. I saw where vampire fish was mentioned as a fertilizer as it's strength is outstanding and noticed today that my sim had a shark she'd caught that had outstanding fertilizer quality and it's sell price was only $5 vs. $47 for the vampire fish she carries. (She also had several red herring with fertilizer strength of outstanding.)  So my question is this: would it be preferable to use the vampire fish over the shark/red herring and if so why?

PS-read about life fruit as well but I'm specifically wondering about this fishy fertilizing stuff.  ;)

The Guide was written before EA added the fertilizer strengths to the descriptions of fish.  But even if more than one fish shows as Outstanding fertilizer, I think they will be ranked within that category and you'll have some that are better than others.  I always go for Vampire Fish if I have them.

Ah, thanks Pam.  I'm not much of a tester of these sort of things so think I'll continue to use vampire fish as well.

Some fish make better fertilizer than others, but the quality of the fish itself also makes a difference.  Red Herring are commonly caught, so their quality rises somewhat quickly and you'll end up with some that are outstanding fertilizer.  But Vampire Fish start out as outstanding fertilizer, and when their quality starts going up they become perfect quality fertilizer.  ;)
