Unable to access a save game

After moving some sims of mine out and then into a new house, I now can't access their save game. I can load it, but it gets stuck with the bar nearly green. I left it for an entire night and the bar didn't move. Does anyone know what I could do to fix this?

It sounds like maybe that file has become corrupted.  I suggest trying to recover a previous save.

Got it. I'll try and recover the backup first, but if that doesn't work I know I have an old save in my archive.

While you're rummaging around in the save game files, look to see if any of them have ".bad" in the filename.  If so, it means that file is corrupted and it's spreading to other files.  Go ahead and delete all files that have ".bad" in the names because you can't retrieve them and they are best removed from your system.

I get rid of all those files as soon as I see them appear. I also backup my saves pretty regularly. And I managed to retrieve my game by loading up the backup.
