Why does the ultra speed stop working?

When I first got the game the ultra speed worked fine and was fast as heck. Now its the same speed as the third speed option. Why did it stop working?

The Ultra Speed is actually the same as the third speed, but it stops after the current action is complete.

It's also exactly the same speed as with speed 3, which you can see by turning the camera to watch the sky and stars at nighttime: speed 3 or 4, they all move at the same speed.

I could of swore ultra speed was a lot faster for awhile.

Haha, I thought this too! But no, they really are the same.

It might just be me, but ultra speed sounds kinda useless to me. I know it speeds up time till it's done with an action, but you could just do the third speed and then switch to a slower speed when ever you wanted.

It's handy to have the automatic return to normal speed after the end of an action.  That way, you don't have to worry about missing the mark and accidentally zipping past something.  I use it quite a bit, but rarely use the double or triple speed options.

I used to keep it on triple speed and just play like that but, recently I started playing on double speed normal speed is just way to slow for me. Now I only use triple speed when I'm sleeping,taking a bath,writing a book,raising skills,if my sims are at work and no ones home, or when I'm socializing.
