Do you know where to find how fast your Sims are aging? (options, then something I don't remember) From there, you should be able to turn aging off for both your Sims and other Sims (story progression for other Sims) if it works like the PC version.

If it's like the PC version, you only have to turn aging off to get the townies to stop aging.  Turning story progression off makes the stories around town stop.  No marriages, no babies, no job changes, no moving, etc.

Really? I thought turning off aging only applied to your Sims? I could be wrong, of course. (I never turn it off, anyway)

No, it will stop the aging of the entire town.

Actually Pam, playing with aging off only stops your household from aging. So turning story progression off only stops people in your town from being able to have babies and stuff like that?

I'm only familiar with the PC version, but I'm quite sure if aging is turned off, nobody in the town will age.  And yes, story progression halts all story lines in the game.  They won't have babies, get married, move, or anything else that they would normally do in the game.

Then it must be different on the console version.

As I said...  turning off aging under the options menu prevents the entire town aging.  Maybe you should try again and make sure you have aging turned off under the options menu.  I don't see any reason why console would be different from PC in this respect.

Then turn story mode off and see if that helps.

If you're dealing with the Xbox 360 version, then you must go to 'options' and you can tick/untick a little box, that says 'turn aging off/on' but if you want to do this, and let the story lines continue then do NOT tick the other box, Happy simming!
