Highest Retirement Check
« on: April 02, 2011, 06:06:03 AM »
I've played the firefighter first time untill retirement. He was level 10 and had a weekly check 2480$ while for every performed job he got more than 2500$. Once I decided it was time for retirement, I was very shocked. He got 11800$ per week! That is around 1690$ per day! His wife was level 10 in Medical and is receiving only 460$ per day (and I'm not certain if she receive it every day).

What are your experiences with other jobs and professions? I don't like selfemployed careers cause they don't give the option for retirement, but what about the others?
Also, is there any difference if Sim had raises after reaching level 10, or is the value of retirement check fixed for each job/profession?

When Ambitions first came out and I played the firefighter, he also got an extremely large retirement check everyday.  I think someone at EA figured it out, because I have not received one like that again.  I think the retirement money is a little low anyway, but in RL it doesn't add up to much either, lol.  I have not played the professions for a long time.  I guess my households are all so big, it is hard to follow someone around and keep track of so many back at home.  I guess I need to try it again. :)

Yes, firefighter retirement checks are ridiculously large. Anyway, what can I say? Congratulations, Anushka! :)

I noticed that with the Architect I played when I first got Ambitions! I'd have to go back into the game to confirm her retirement check but it shocked me when I first saw it. In comparison to the Rabbit Hole careers, the Ambition professions are fabulous in terms of retirement pay. But I would be very disappointed if retirement pay wasn't that much higher because the time and effort you and your Sim have to put into their career is so much more.

Only thing is, the next time I played the FF profession for the guide, when he retired, it was the normal 200.00 a day.  I just assumed it was a glitch the first time around.  Have not gotten it since with any profession that they have retired in. :)

Salty, he is receiving check on sundays, as writers do, and it said 11 800$ per week, unlike other jobs when they receive smaller amount every day. This is first time I have Sim retired from profession, they will usually quit their job before. It is strange that you got small amount every day.
Thanks Chronicr, since this is a founder of a dynasty, it's going to accumulate descent amount of money like this ;)
Lily, I agree with you, with all the effort we both put in his profession every day, for 7 weeks, it is earned money. Still I was very surprised, and am glad to hear that other professions are having large retirement checks too.

Y'know, you'd of thought that a job as a AD wouldn't be very good check in real life. Dunno how they thought of that!
