Ambitions: Career Outfits Rewards/Unlocked Outfits?

I was playing along tonight..err..early this morning in my game. And went to give my Sims person a new outfit for the party she was going to be attending. When I went into Outfits, I saw some unlocked ?? outfits that I've never seen before. I asked Hubby about it. He said it might be rewards from the career she's in. She's a level 3 or 4 Stylist at the moment.

However, I went into another game and found that my other sim family didn't have access to the outfit that my stylist sim person has.  They had what appears to be a ghost busting outfit? Even though none of my Sims in this particular family are ghost busters. They either don't have jobs or are gardening Sims.

I'm not sure what to think. I've honestly never seen any unlocked rewards like this. But I usually play either handy or gardening sims. And I don't think they get rewards like this.

Can anyone explain the unlocked outfits?

I have had the similar thing happen in my game.  Whatever job that particular sim has, the outfits always seem to show up in their dresser and not available to other sims, so I believe this is normal.  I have, however, had sims acquire outfits that I had never seen that were from a job or profession that they had never had.  So maybe it is just a random thing, but I think you can unlock all outfits so all sims can wear them, I am not sure about that or maybe I am thinking of something else.  I guess I had never really given it much thought, but kinda makes ya wonder where they got it.

Saltypaws is right, once you have a certain outfit and/or uniform unlocked (levels in the Science, Medical, and many other careers unlock these), it's unlocked for everyone in the household, plus any Sim you access in CAS through a dresser. Of course, only with that saved file. It won't work in your other saves. You can get those outfits in the Stylist station too. Would be nice to dress all the townies into cave(wo)men outfits! Lol  I don't know if there are any unlocked outfits from the Stylist profession, I haven't played that much. Maybe someone else who has can help you. Good luck.

Yes, the stylist has outfits too.  The get a different one after each promotion.  There is a couple that are really nice and the last two or the next to the last, they have sun glasses on.  I remember seeing that outfit and wondering where it came from.

Yes I too have wondered where she got some of the outfits she has. Every day, so far anyway, she's had a different outfit when she goes out for work. Some of them are nice and some of them are well.. not what I'd wear. It's a fun career to play. She doesn't go to the Tatoo Salon for jobs anymore. She just goes where the hair dryer icons are. After that I usually have her draw or go visit other sims and make them over.

Until now, I thought that the only way (is Essex! Lol, that was uncalled for. I apologize.) was to get costumes by chance in a time machine and the uniforms of jobs, but they get taken from you after you quit/premote/demote.
