Adoption in TS3
« on: April 06, 2011, 06:21:28 PM »
I don't remember which it was (or both), TS1 or TS2, but I recall there being requirements, specifically a financial requirement, for adoption.  I haven't yet adopted a child in TS3, but I'm planning a story around a sim who does so.  What, if any, are the requirements for a sim to adopt?

Absolutely none. You know how to adopt through your phone right? Anyways, It's free, and you get a few days off from work too, and can pick out the gender and age, you want to adopt. The only way you can't adopt is if you had your child taken away by the social worker.

jeanamariex3 beat me to the reply.  I was also going to link to the paragraph about adoption in Carl's Guide (this page).

I've only tried this once but remember that I had no problem adopting any number of children with my single sim.  (I was attempting to see if it was possible to 'seed' the adoption pool with little sims of my creation but, unfortunately, they seemed to be random.)

Have fun with your story.

Thanks to both of you!  I did look in the guide, but I must have missed what I was looking for.  Thanks again for your helpful replies!  :)
