Can't feed pit monster...quest when you tour kingdom

I can't remember the quest, you are the king and you have to tour around the countryside, go on the ship, feed the monster.  I had to quit because my King died.  I had to feed the pit monster...but I couldn't.  It kept saying I was not worthy to feed it.  So I jumped in and fought it a few times, and eventualy died.  I was a level 5 king.  Any ideas?

I completed this same quest but I had my Monarch feed the beast with bear meat.  What meat were you using?  I know fed the beast a chunk of bear meat about 3 times one day and then 3 times the next day - usually waiting an hour or so in between feedings.  The meat was from several bears that I had to hunt. 

I don't remember at what level my Monarch was at but I have also fed the beast with my Knight when he was at level 2.  If you have been saving your games in between quests, then go back to your previous save and try it again - but make sure you feed it with bear meat that you have hunted.

Bear, boar and venison all work, in that order.  Bear you can feed less, venison you have to feed more.  I don't wait in between feedings.  I just save and keep chucking in food up to three times then jump in.

Thinking about it I realized I just un-loaded all my meat into the storage cabinet.   File this one under 'DUH', you need MEAT to FEED the monster.  duh duh duh!

Don't be so hard on yourself chadgar24!  We all do that once in awhile - I have done it before and will probably do it again.  A warm welcome to the forum since I forgot to say it before . 

@Joria, I didn't know all the meat would work nor that one didn't have to wait between feedings.  Thanks for the tip!
