Sacred Tree?
« on: April 02, 2011, 11:45:30 PM »
I swore I'd never do the Bric a Brac quest again because, A. I have really bad vision and B.  I SUCK at finding things.  I can't really see the difference between the trees.  I've looked around the big one by the churches, found nothing but you can't turn the blankety blank camera around so that makes it harder.  I've  tried to look around the tree by the judgement pit, the one stuck in the ruins.  If you don't want to make it a spoiler, would anyone who knows which tree is the so called Sacred Tree and what am I trying to find there, just pm me or something.  I am beyond frustrated at this point.

The sacred oak is by the church area. Look for the larger more unique, gnarled looking tree. Check the collectible patches of vegetation near by.

@ Joria - When I did the Quest you didn't see the Items you just clicked on something in the area until you see an option. One place something was hidden in a Herb Plant. The Teddy Bear you couldn't see and had to click on it's hiding place.

Thank you both.  I finally had figured out which tree of the two possibilities was the Sacred Tree, actually it had made sense, but the entire time I was looking around the tree there was nothing that in any way indicated ANYTHING.  This is because I insisted on actually clicking on the tree itself.   Finally, in desperation, I clicked on the corner of the Peteran Monastery closest to the tree and voila, the symbol changed from an arrow to a leaf.  I knew at that point I had found the tree and then I just went around and clicked on various plants etc. till the correct message showed up.

The key to this quest is look at it as if it is a mass of rabbit holes.  You will never actually see the items you are searching for.  You also have two choices as to how you should search, by the list of items, or by the locations the monarch had gone to.  Only one is at all helpful or easy.  I've done it both ways and my second attempt was much easier until I hit the tree!

By the way you can look around the Kingdom in Watcher view and you can rotate the camera by holding down CTRL and using the right mouse button to move the camera.  I hope this helps you find things better.  Cheers.
