Thief Career

Is there a way to burgle someones house where there not at home ? or dose it have to be during the evening when your round?

This is not really related to the "thief career" actually, since that job is a rabbit hole just like on the PC. However, if you mean a kleptomaniac sim, you cannot steal stuff from a house if they don't let you in. Incidentally, I've played with so many kleptos on the PC, so I haven't tried this on the PS3, but on the PC you could as a ghost enter any house any time for some reason. This would allow you to steal things from other people's houses during the night just fine, even when they're gone.

Alternatively, you can befriend the house owners during the day, then ask to stay the night, then steal from them.

As said above, this does not necessarily have much to do with the Thief Career track, however, at level 5 or 7 in the thief career track you will earn the ability to sneak around places. You will still need to be let in but once you are in if you sneak into a room where there is not a Sim, you can steal things - just make sure you leave if anyone goes into that room, even if you're not in that room, as they will realise it has gone!
