Succeeding the Throne
« on: March 30, 2011, 06:22:53 PM »
I was under the understanding that when a hero died, a child could take their place or another hero.  I just finished royal assassination and need a new monarch to continue, but the only options that appear to be available are to use a regenerated one or create a new one.

Anyone know how I have his son take over or make one of the other heroes Monarch?

I did that quest, too, and I think the only options may be to use a canned Sim or create a new monarch.  I did not find any way to move another hero into the monarch role.  Since children don't age up in this game, it's doubtful that your monarch's child would be able to succeed their parent.  Fortunately I chose that quest early on, before my monarch was at a high level, so it wasn't too painful to start with a new level 1 hero.  If I had invested more time in her, I would have been really ticked off at losing her.

I swore I read on the medieval FAQ pre-launch that children would grow up and tkae the role of their parent in the event of death.
