Game disapearing after saving? Help!
« on: July 19, 2011, 07:16:18 PM »
I got a very big problem, not on my game but on my sister's. This has happened alot to her but she has let it go. She had a game with time 24 weeks and 3 days and a lot of money 7 sims, I can tell she had worked hard on it because she get's bored easily of a household and she deletes. She just started playing and then in the main menu there's no family. We already re-installed about 2 weeks ago.  Does anyone have any idea on how to fix it? Thanks so much.

Are you saying the saved game is missing?  Has she played it since the reinstallation?

Yes she has played it after the reinstallation. She made the game after re-installing. I got it back using the thread Fixing/Recovering Saved Game - Saved Game Not in Game Launcher or Corrupted but I need to find a way to stop it.

Stop it from corrupting?  That is up to the sim gods.  :-[ She can hedge her bets by having different saves - alternating numbers - and saving on a timely basis.  Her hood is already 24 weeks.  Depending how big her save file is, that could mean errors will start creeping in.  If it was me, I would be saving the family to the library and moving them to a new hood.

Figwit is right.  You can't do anything to prevent this kind of file corruption, as long as you aren't running any mods that change the program of the game.  It's a very good idea to keep multiple save files so that you have something to go back to if it happens again.  And, yes, large file games do start getting buggy.  It's just the nature of the game.
