Question about making a Doomstaff
« on: April 30, 2011, 11:14:21 PM »
My Wizard has some free time in her quest. I decided to make her a doomstaff. My question is: Where do you find/buy/whatever an "Arcane Edge"? I know where to get everything else, but not an Arcane Edge.

The Arcane Edge can be gained from one of the Random Events while "Taking a Stroll" in the Forest with the Wizard. In the encounter with a guard over a bridge, choose to "Fight the Guard" and if victorious, will yield this item.

Other things I have heard:
  • There are two chance cards that can give arcane edge.
  • It doesn't have to be the wizard taking a stroll
  • Can be found in the pit
  • Luck/Fortune potions help

Thanks! I think this quest is almost over, so I'll try that when I get a chance to with the wizard.

I've taken a stroll in the forest over 50 times now with a level 10+ wizard (currently level 10+6). 15 times with Potion of Fortune. 10 times with Potion of Luck. I have a growing collection of  Pixies, Dire Chinchillas, Unicorn Horns/Meat and Witch's Paraphenalia...  but no Arcane Edge.  >:(

I took a stroll when my Wizard could and did that around 50 times too. I used the luck potion once. The rest of the time, it was pure wizard. I got it eventually, and thankfully it succeeded! So it's pretty rare. Rarer than finding a dire chinchilla feeding (with the option to capture it).
