Do We Have the Same Characters?

Do we have all the same characters when we start out in the game?  For example, does everyone have Merchant Princess Catrin of Tredony, Trickster Alban, Smithmaster Ashleigh of Crafthole, Build Master Wilbur, Royal Advisor Kari, etc.?  Or does the game mix up a new batch of characters for every game?

I have a Buildmaster Ty, Minstrel Stacey (a male), Royal Advisor Wanda, Smithmaster Meghan of Crafthole, Merchant Princess Rochelle of Tredony and Bruce the Servant.

Having started a couple games, we do have the same initial characters, but they don't have the same names.

Yeah my names are all different my buildmaster is Girard.

I love how they have names from all sorts of medieval fiction Igraine, Isobel etc...

I also love the mostly medieval names, though I did have to giggle when my game threw me a King Rob.  Also love the in-game random namer.  I've wanted something like that for ages.

I've started 3 different games.  You get either a trickster or a minstrel, you get a Buildmaster right away but you have to write for a Counselor/Royal Advisor.  Both the characters from Crafthole and Tredony are there but their name changes.  The one from Tredony so far has been female each time but the Crafthole person has been female twice and male once.  I didn't get a servant until I helped a townie by putting the bully in the stocks.  All three times it was a male servant, two out of the three being fairly competent and one who wanted to do nothing but eat my food.  He did keep the castle tidy but somehow sweeping the dust under the rug didn't seem a very good choice to me.  Made me laugh though.

On my experience, the "main npcs" are never named the same, but most of the time they look the same. Every buildmaster I had so far was wearing a red tabard and had a beard, the advisor was really skinny in a blue outfit, etc. The only thing that [rarely] changes is their haircut/hat.

I've started 3 games as well, and in my games most of the characters are different.  I've had both male and female servants and advisors.  A lot of the villagers look the same from game to game but I haven't been paying close enough attention to know whether or not they have the same names.

I just noticed today that there are some people that are the same in all of my games.  Same look, same clothes and same name no matter what ambition I seem to be on.   Moneylender Golda, Dame Constance, Crone Gathia, Consort Linota.   I might have seen the consort's name different once but for all the other kingdoms to have the same name?  that's just weird.

Moneylender Golda!  It's like they weren't even trying to be clever.    I'll have to see if they're named the same in my game.  I know that the Consort had a similar name, I thought it was Linda but I get written names (I mean like in books) wrong a lot - my brain just sees some of the letters and replaces the "weird" name with a more common one.
