When Sims Leave the Castle
« on: March 28, 2011, 05:56:48 AM »
My queen has the Licentious Fatal Flaw and gets a negative buff for having a Dry Spell.  She has several romantic interests, but they don't stay around the castle very long.  The Trickster and the Minstrel are both romantic interests, but I don't think I've seen them since she first met them.  So, I thought I'd have her get married and she started courting the Town Watchman.  He left, too.  I can't turn their markers on, so I don't know where they are.  Now the problem is that, since she's in a relationship, no other men will have anything to do with her besides friendship.  Two have even thrown her rose to the ground!  She put one in the stocks for it, but got a big negative buff for losing a friend in addition to having a Dry Spell.  I guess I should have had her marry him when he was there.

Does anyone know how to find these Sims when they leave the castle and don't have a marker?

Oh, good grief!  Thank you!  I knew it had to be a simple solution.  She went to the messenger pigeon box and it worked great.  :D

You can also track them down by activating a marker on them from the social panel

A lot of times when you can't put a marker on them its because they're "home" in the village.  Certain times of the day everyone "goes home" and you can't find them.  I had my monarch do the effenmount marriage quests and the elf princess is always around the town but because she's not a townie she is always able to be marked (when I'm not sleeping of course).

My king recently has the quest where he  has to get married and have an heir.  He married a woman from the village.  I assumed she would move in to the castle, but she still goes back to the village at night when she isn't out roaming around.  It makes me wonder what sort of marriage they have!   ;D But the king turned out to be quite a doting father; the next quest I was playing a different hero, and every time my sim was at the castle, the king was always cuddling the new baby.

Watch out if you marry someone who has a faith!  My Monarch married a Merchant and as they were laying in bed about to woohoo the Jacoban sermon time came and she jumped out of bed like it was on fire and ran off to the church!  The King was not pleased!  She must have been going for the comedy show as the down regarded the religion as a joke.

You can also use the watcher's eye and just click on the folk you see wandering around to find the lost ones, only it is not as effective as that mail box!
What?  Grannies can't play games?

Also not as fun, I'd much rather tie a note to a pigeon's leg and throw it into the air with feathers flying everywhere, than to go on a search. One of my favourite Sim Medieval actions!

OMG thank you!  I was stuck on a quest and I think this is the answer.

Back on topic - I usually have my queen romance the build master who never leaves the castle.

My queen married the blacksmith.  Before they had a child he was hard to track down for a little friendly whoo hooing.  Now they have a son.  When night comes, home to the castle he goes.  When they were first married a question came up about where do they want to live, the castle or the smithy?  I chose castle of course but it wasn't until she gave birth that he actually stayed there at night.  They are so cute.  Always making googoo eyes at one another.  My other married couple never had that happen but she never gave birth.  Maybe it's having a nooboo that triggers the place they sleep at night?
