Chinchilla challenge, watch the fight?

So my Monarch is doing the Fur challenge which is to hunt the chinchillas. She met up with an elder hunter who was supposed to teach her. I get the quest step to Watch the Fight. But the guy kept on socializing with the townspeople and he never did fight the beast (in the pit, I suppose?) so I decided to sleep on it. When my Monarch woke up, she went to the judgment zone but the elder now looks like a ghost???

What should I do?

Well, that's strange, dollkey.  Is your sim able to interact with the elder?  I wonder if it could be some kind of game glitch that rights itself when you exit the game.  At one point my whole game went black - all I could see was the green plumbbob and the flares from torches.  No idea what caused it, but I managed to save the game by quitting that quest and re-starting it.

When I did the Fur challenge, my sim waited around a long time at the judgement area and, as you said, nothing happened.  I had my character come back the next morning and the fight finally took place.

I will look at this now. I was so disappointed because I had to shirk 2 responsibilities that day and my Monarch's focus was in the red.

BTW, I love this game

Good thing I save after every quest. When I opened the game I started the quest again and it worked out. This  game is really fun!

Try to always do the responsibilities first, no matter what the quest is calling for at the moment.  Responsibilities come and end at short, given times, but the quest can be dragged a bit.  Once you've got shirked responsibilities it's harder to get that bar on the extreme left to go platinum.  I had one actually go dead.  He finished the quest but what was the point?  I should have paid more attention to responsibilities.  You do have to be careful though, because if you are far enough behind in your quest the constable comes, arrests you, puts you in the stocks and it's really hard to progress well after that.

I've done the fur quest more than once.  The guy tells you to meet him at the pit and when you get there he is either socializing or already throwing himself in!  Just interrupt him with a question and he'll jump in for you and do it a couple of times.  When he comes out you talk to him again and he tells you to come at him.  So you have to spar with him.  Then he makes excuses for losing!  lol

That's so funny.  I've only done that quest once and I had my monarch jump into the pit.  hee hee!
