Power on a Wizard's Staff
« on: May 17, 2011, 04:13:37 AM »
Hi.
When my sim finally made a Doomstaff (yay!), I saw that it had a Power level of 10. But it seemed to act the same.
What does Power level do?

And offtopic (Wow. I created this thread, this is the first post, and I'm already offtopic. :-\), but does the Doomstaff carry a chance of death? I noticed something in the description about "drawing the eye of the reaper", or something like that.

The power level influences your chance of casting spells effectively as well as the energy cost, so yeah, having a high power level is important if you're going to be teleporting around willy-nilly. :P

No idea on the other thing, sorry.

It also acts like the energy rating on a bed for when you meditate.

There is nothing in the prima guide about a negative buff or a higher chance of death, I can tell you that much! :) I'm working on getting the Doomstaff for my wizard so I'll see if anything particular happens.

How do you find the arcane edge to forge a Doomstaff?

When you are exploring the forest, a random chance card might come up. You're looking for the card that says you found a man standing by a bridge, with the option to fight or run away. If you select "Fight", and are successful, you will get an arcane edge.
