There weren't any in-game hints about it, either.  Nothing that said "go to the village" to buy it.  Kind of weird if you ask me, but I hope that it ends up working out for you!  And thanks for the sturdy lute, I'll have to use it next time my physician's husband cheats on her in the Peteran church.  By "use it" I mean smash it on his head!!  He gives the Peteran priest a bad moodlet every morning, the jerk.

I'm using my last 3 qp to see if I get the same problem as you Schipperke.  I'm finally done this ambition as soon as I finish this quest and I'll keep you posted on if it happens to me.


edit: Ok 30 minutes later and I got to the part where I needed a watcher's blade and it was indeed at the village shoppe.  Looks just like a sword I just did the list reverse alphabetically and there it was right under the whaler's stuff.

Well, it finally turned up at the village store.  I know it wasn't there before.  My spy was running back and forth to the store for a couple of days, and I checked and re-checked the list.  Then after that fiasco with the lute, when the spy didn't have enough money to buy the blade, I sent the Jacoban Priest over instead, and there it was.  Right after Jonna offered me the extra from her game.  Coincidence?  Maybe.  Or maybe not!
