Ps3 Sims 3 game question
« on: October 28, 2010, 02:19:37 AM »
Hi everyone!

I used to own the original sims game on the pc and had almost all of the expansion packs for it but my computer died and when we got a new one it would no longer play. So I have missed out on all the other pc sims games.

I do own a ps3 and was so excited to learn that a sims 3 game was coming out for it and couldn't wait for the release date! I purchased it tuesday and have been playing it alot. Since it's the only sims game I can play I have really been enjoying it. I have my sim self made and have gotten married in the game. They had twin boys and I just got them aged up to young adults then they had another boy who is now a child. I want to move my two young adult twin boys out on their own so I have more room in the house. I read up on the sims 3 for the pc and from what I have read you click on the cell phone and click on move and then kick out. On the ps3 version I tried doing that but it says if I do they will be removed from the game. Does that mean removed from the active household where I can't play them anymore but they will still be in the town and go on with their own lives? That's what I want for them to do but when it says removed from the game that makes me think completely like they just disappear and I don't want that. I don't mind not being able to play them in an active household but I still want them in the town going about their own business where they could come over and things like that. When I clicked kick them out it asked if I wanted to keep or sell my furniture. I said keep then it took me to the neighborhood map but all of the homes were too expensive so they couldn't move in.

Does anyone know how to kick them out but keep them in the town on the ps3 version?

Welcome to our Forum, April!

I don't have the console version of the game, but I really hope it doesn't mean they'll completely disappear from your game.  Is it possible to save a copy of your game, kick them out, then go back to your saved game if you don't like the results?

Hello Pam and thanks!

I tried doing that just to see what would happen and when I clicked the kick out option and clicked keep furniture. The parents were the ones who moved to a new house. I was wanting the twins to move out not the parents but it did separate them so I didn't mind that really. The thing I hate is after the parents moved into the new house by themselves I tried getting both of them to click on their cell phones and try chatting or inviting over one of the twins and they don't show up as an option. I didn't save this game so I can go back to where I was in the game before I moved them out. Thanks for that suggestion! Would the parents have to be friends with the twins for the twins to show up under their calling options? I thought since they were family they would automatically be under each others phone books. Does it work this way in the pc game? I think I am going to go back to my old game and see if they are friends with the twins maybe this will make a difference. I really am going to be disappointed in the game if the kids just disappear because really whats the point of having kids in the game if they are just going to completely disappear.  ???

I just went to the town map and checked the old house where I figured the twins must have stayed and it says that house is empty so when you kick them out they do completely disappear! Basically, because of that you can only have 4 kids because the game only allows 6 people in one house and then you have to keep the kids with you because if you kick them out they disappear from the game. That really sucks!  :(

Wonder if the game for the Wii is going to be the same.  That game does not come out until Nov. 12 or 16th I believe.  Will just have to wait and find out.  That would not be right if the grown kids could not move out of their parents home.  Maybe there is some other way.

I was just wondering if anyone had figured out a solution to this yet? I wanted to move out my young adult son and his new wife to clear up some space in the house and to focus more attention on the two remaining children, but it seems as though I can't!

This has been a common issue, and the basic answer is that there is no option similar to 'Edit Town' on the X360/PS3. This means that, except for what is done by story progression, the town will remain the same. You have one family, and if you wish to kick a sim out, you'll have to delete him/her. I'm sorry, but I'm yet to find a work-around.

If you try to move one part out, you can choose to follow the mover, which will delete the remaining part.

The console version of the game is not the same as the PC. One of the biggest changes is that you can only control one household per game. You can't jump around to control other households like you can in the PC version. One of the worst things about the console version also, is that once a person is seperated from the household, you will not be able to contact them ever again because they are erased from the game. For good.
