Sims 3 world adventures wont load from the launcher

Sims3 Launcher always worked ok until about 2 weeks ago. Now it will not always launch the world adventures game.

Exactly what happens when it won't launch?

The launcher comes up like normal, then when I click the play button it goes to a blank screen with the normal pc tool bar at the bottom and the sims loading icon thing, and it just hangs there and the only way to get rid of it is to turn off the computer and back on. I don't know whats going on its been going funny for about two weeks, I just can't out my finger on it!

So if nothing changed, and I'd look into what could have before taking such measures (new drivers installed? new software installed around that time?), it sounds like your Sims install could have gone bad somehow. Make copies of all your save files and try to reinstall the game. The saves are in the documents folder under electronic arts. They'd just need to be placed back in that location after you've finished reinstalling.

If your still having problems getting the game to start with the launcher you might try bypassing the launcher to start the game. That's how I always start my game unless I just need the launcher to get a patch or something. Saves time waiting on the launcher to start up then having to hit the play button.

Assuming your Sims game is in the default directory

If you have WA installed use
C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 World Adventures\Game\Bin\TS3EP01.exe

If you just have the base game without the expansion use
C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin\TS3.exe

Just make a shortcut to the file on your desktop and use that to start the game.
