It means Electronic Arts Download Manager. The only reason I see for you to try to open it is to do the download of a game you already bought and lost the DVD or something. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to work around with EADM so I can't be much help.

I'm afraid me neighter will be much of a help here, but at least I understand the issue now.
It may sound stupid, but have you considered the Electronic Arts helpdesk already, for in case this forum can not help you?
I thought the helpdesk is okey. For as far as I remember that correctly the people could help me.

If it doesn't open, you may just need to download it again.

Haha, that would be funny. :P First I am thinking to difficult and than the answer would be something simple.
Ah well, the simpliest explanations are mostly the best though.

EADM got installed with my game, I think  ;D It's main role is to update the game to the latest patch (I think). Though I've never ever used it, in my case, when installing the expansion packs, it asks to update the game, I click 'yes', it opens a pop-up and updates the game. I'm curious why anyone would use the Download Manager anyway... The easiest and most relevant way to reinstall EADM though is to reinstall the game from the disc. It's the first thing that comes to my mind. Also, reinstalling the game may solve some hidden bugs and problems  :)
Well, that's your opinion, isn't it? And I'm not about to waste my time trying to change it. - Lady GaGa
