Unwanted Cars in Inventory
« on: February 21, 2011, 03:51:30 AM »
I'm still suffering from that bug where all of a sudden, you will see a Sim have many many new cars in his inventory.  My Sims are working Sims and they do not appreciate this windfall of new expensive cars in their inventory.  Can someone please tell me how to get rid of the unwanted cars without cashing in on their value? I don't want the Sims to become suddenly rich because of the sales of these cars since it will ruin their story! Please tell me, how can I get rid of these cars without increasing the household simoleons/value?  :-[

Well you could put them in your family inventory, they wouldn't be gone, but they wouldn't bother you. It's located in the Buy Mode tab, if you didn't know.

Sadly, no longer. Please see the link.

Place a car parking space on your lot and drag the car out of your inventory to that space.
I hope you have Ambitions because if your sim is an inventor he or she can blow up cars (practice on your neighbour cars if you are underskilled) to give you scrap instead of money.

Or hire a thief. :P Yes, you can, by using the cheat testingCheatsEnabled true and than shiftclicking the mailbox to summon a NPC to your lot.

'Here thiefy thiefy thiefy. I have goodies... Cars for free! Come and get it.'

How about you just write down how much money the sims have, then sell all the cars, then use the family funds cheat to return the money to what you want. See the familyfunds cheat on this page of the guide:

Want an easy way? Just put the car out of the inventory, turn on testing cheats, shift-click on the car and click 'object', then click 'delete'. You won't get money, but you'll get rid of the cars.
