Trouble catching perfect Deathfish

This has been a problem for me even before the most recent patch or installing Pets. Anyway, I've found that my Angler sims are having no luck catching perfect Deathfish no matter what their level is.

Currently my angler has Supermaxed fishing and is using perfect angelfish as bait and has been fishing in the cemetary every night for two weeks with no luck. I'm not sure what the problem is?

I have not caught a perfect deathfish either. I gave up and dropped the wish from my angler's wish list.

It might just be a matter of patience - based on what I've seen in a game I'm playing right now, the more fish you catch, the better fish you catch, even after you supermax the skill.

If you have ten deathfish handy, it might be useful to build a small pond on your own property and use those fish to stock it so you're not limited to fishing for deathfish just late at night. It doesn't matter what quality the fish are - you'll be able to catch perfect fish from it eventually.

Yes, it takes a lot of patience.  Your Sim will gradually move up the line on quality as more and more Deathfish are caught.  It's definitely possible to catch perfect Deathfish.

As Pam said, it's definitely possible to catch perfect Deathfish.  I believe (although I haven't tested this) that it also helps if your Sim has the Angler trait.  My Angler Sim seemed to be very good at catching perfect Deathfish.

I've fished a lot in this game and I haven't had any problems with catching perfect fish. Get the Angler trait, perfect bait and complete the fishing challenges. One of them gives you the ability to catch bigger fish. It might even get you better quality fish.
