Wedding bug.
« on: January 30, 2011, 03:10:30 AM »
At my last Sim wedding the bride got the just married moodlet before the wedding. The first time they exchanged their vows the groom went home after the ceremony and was not part of the family. At first I thought maybe they hadn't really got married but the brides mum and dad had the mother/father of the bride moodlet.
In the end I had to marry them in a private ceremony.

Has anyone else had any problems with getting their Sims married.

Were you having a wedding party?  And did you have the option "Get Married" during the party?

Yes I was having the wedding party and they exchanged vows and rings. The guest threw confetti and then the groom went home. I did get a notice saying the guests were disappointed that Adam Khalid had not got married but he wasn't suppose to get married he just threw the party. I threw a lot of weddings in the Smith Dynasty so I am pretty sure that the person getting married doesn't have to be the one who throws the party.

I thought it was the bride or groom who had to throw the party. I recall in Pam's dynasty, she mentioned something at Periwinkle's wedding where there was a screw up, which gave Peri time to shower in a can herself fresh.

In my Smith dynasty Hebe threw all the wedding parties. She had the LTR that makes all parties epic. They got married in the end which is all that matters really.

This sounds like what happened in my Eden family except mine was complicated by the groom being a foreigner.  They were married at her home but he didn't move in at the time and he left the next morning.  I finally tracked him down working in the tattoo parlour in Riverview but he is no longer her husband or even or fiance.  They do have the heart symbol. :)

They can still get married no matter who throws the party.  But the guests get the thing saying they were disappointed that the Sim throwing the party didn't get married.  Well, maybe not.  Seems like I do remember that the "Get Married" wasn't an option if someone else threw the party.  I'm not sure on that.

If they exchanged rings and everything, I don't know why the marriage didn't take.  It should have brought up the screen where you move the groom into the house.  Sounds like some kind of glitch, hopefully just with that one wedding.

Well, you can always use the ask to move in friendly interaction to move bride/groom in.
