Sims sinking into beds marks end of another dynasty?
« on: February 02, 2011, 07:39:16 PM »
I'm in generation 3 of my dynasty and suddenly my sims are sinking into their beds, not sleeping, just lying and deteriorating their needs.  Resetting works, but once this starts, they and other sim townies randomly get "stuck" in patios, disappear or just behave oddly.  I do not remember doing anything specific before it happened, except doing a lot of portraits and purchasing the 5th and 6th property/building.  Should I just keep resetting them or is this maybe the mark of The Inevitable End?

Oh, I hope it's not the end, Veldmuisie!  What a way to go - drowning in your own bed.  Have you tried exiting and restarting the game?

Yes I have.  I don't have any custom content either.  But I just realized I did do something new, I bought the fancy stereo with the lights that is all blocky and squarish.  I will remove it and test.

I hope removing the stereo helps.  I did find during the Clan Douglas Dynasty that the file became corrupted a couple of times and I had to restore it, using the instructions in the Technical Support section here:

I was very nervous about trying that, but it worked for me.  If nothing else helps, I'd suggest you have a look there and ask any questions that may help you decide whether or not to try it.  Or perhaps someone else will have suggestions to add here.  Good luck!

That is what I have been using in the Colour dynasty, oh, probably about 20 times, lol.  It does work though, you would think after about 10 times, I would get the hint. :)

I cannot believe this - it is fixed!  I removed that Bewolf stereo, saved and restarted completely.  Everything is back to normal.  Not sure if this is just chance.  If it is not then I declare that stereo as EVIL  ;D.  I will keep your suggestion since I still have 5 generations to go.  Thanks Schipperke and Saltypaws!

Good luck.  Maybe there is other glitchy stuff we don't know about.  I do remember at certain times that strange things happened, like stuck sims or other weird things after I had purchased them, but just did not put two and two together. :)

It's great to hear that you don't have to restart your dynasty!
