Eight Simmons Go For Immortality

Hello, I am back to try this again. No story this time, I am on Tuesday of Week 4 and I think I've taken fewer screenshots than I have fingers on one hand.

Anyway, I'm in Sunset Valley and am playing with all expansion packs except for Into the Future, Island Paradise and Seasons.

The household consists of Founder Thomas Simmons, his beautiful wife, Agnes Simmons, his best bud, Christopher Steel, his heir, Olivia, and her two brothers Will and Jimmie (they are triplets). Oh and Christopher also had a cat, Sebastian who also moved in. To help Christopher with the gardening, Reverend Green Dragon is on hand.

Thomas happenings
By Monday Week 6, with the exception of his co-worker, Dustin Langerak, his boss (Erin Kennedy) and his other co-workers (Jack Bunch, Bessie Clavell and Yumi Sekemoto) have all died. Surprisingly, Jack was the first of the 'bunch' to die, with Erin dying on Monday Week 6, just after being yelled at by her superiors, she yelled at him and proceeded to have a heart attack, or something along those lines.

He's supermaxed the athletics skill and has completed 2 of 3 challenges of the handiness skill, having completed 9/10 Electrical Repairs, 10 Plumbing Object Repairs and 28 unique object upgrades.

On the employment front, he's a Top Gun in the Military Career, and is 4/5s of the bar from level 10 of the track and so close to becoming an Astronaut and completing his Life Time Wish.

Olivia Happenings
Olivia and her brothers attended Prom on Wednesday Week 5, as did her boy friend, Charlie Steel. Olivia was named Prom Queen and became Charlie's romantic interest on the night. At School, she's a Grade A student and on the Honour Roll at school.

She's focusing on painting and sculpting at the moment. Oh, and she's learnt to drive thanks to her father.

Household Happenings
Aggie Simmons
Aggie grieved the death of her big sister, and after supermaxing sculpting and painting, began to write sports books. She got a couple of dusty old lamps and was given an inheritance following the death of a distant relative.

Christopher Steel
Aside from exchanging a clone voucher for a son of his own, Christopher has spent his days and nights fishing, gardening and photographing. He became an Agricultural Mastermind as a Self Employed Farmer and is currently a chub chucker in the Fishing Career.

Will Simmons
Will's focused on fishing and gardening and became Prom King and Romantically involved with a former newspaper deliverer, Nichol Cunningham. He's also shown an interest in photography.

He's an A Student in High School and on the Honour Roll like his sister.

Jimmie Simmons
Jimmie is learning to sculpt and paint from his mother, Aggie in order to complete Olivia's museum pieces once she leaves with Grimm. At the Prom, Jimmie became romantically involved with Judith Muse, who had also been a newspaper deliverer when she was younger, just like Nichol Cunningham.

Like his siblings, Jimmie is an A Student in High School and is on the Honour Roll.

Charlie Steel
Charlie is the cloned son of Christopher and enjoys fishing more than anything, spending every waking moment at the family's personal fishing pond.

He's a B student at school and the youngest member of the household, and the future Mr Olivia Simmons.

Sebastian Cat
Sebastian is now an elder feline and is spending his time resting, sleeping, meowing, eating and watching the fish, lizards, snakes, turtles and rodents he had caught during his younger, more energetic days.

Thomas maxed his military career just a couple of days before his elder birthday, but by this time most of his original best friends (his work colleagues) had died. The day before he became an elder, his darling wife was invited to a party by the Morris/Kimura/VanWatson/Ansari household and she invited the household to come along with her. Christopher had taken a witch potion and spam-made friendship and best friendship potions. Thomas was given the best friendship potions, threw them around at the party and became best friends with all four ladies. So there was no chance of any more deaths, on his elder birthday (week 6 day 7), he posed for his photo/sculpture/portrait, wolfed down his ambrosia and placed a death flower in his personal inventory.

Aggie was peacefully writing her first masterpiece late at night on Monday of Week 8. "Love, she cried out to her husband, Thomas, "I've almost fin..."

As Thomas entered the dining room/Aggie's office he saw her floating, then all the colour drained from her and she began cloudy and transparent.

"No," Thomas said through sobs, "NO"

Despite it being late at night, all the family came ... even Sebastian ... and at his advanced age, that was surprising ... they all stood around, and waited for Grimm to take their wife/mother/mother-in-law/grandmother/old lady who gave him belly rubs out of their lives. There was much unhappiness that their Aggie the Goddess was now a Ghostess with the mostess. Then Grimm came and took her with him ... all the family were upset, even Sebastian.



But then Grimm stuck around and told Will that he was a Swifty and the call to get Aggie meant he lost his spot in the online ticket sales for the Melbourne concert.

"You could have bought the ticket and let mum stay a bit longer, we wouldn't have minded," an unsympathetic Will replied.

The urn was put downstairs in their memorial wall of spouses, spares and helpers along with a photograph, painting and sculpture completed by her children in a touching tribute to her.


Due to the graduations that occurred previously in the household, Thomas has not yet been able to attend a day of work as an astronaut. So he's been getting underfoot by trying to fish or paint. So he's been given a special task ... Grandpa Grand-daughter cuddles time ...


It's even stopped his weeping and gnashing of teeth following Agnes' journey with Grimm (and in my mind, someone crying so much is possibly not very safe to keep around electricity and electrical items. - yes, even though he's done the challenge that means he can't be electrocuted).

He also upgraded the family's two food replicators ... and Aggie made ambrosia which was replicated on each ... I tried to send him to one of them to replicate himself an ambrosia ... but no ambrosia was there. So I sent him to the other one ... no ambrosia was there. So I had him put some random food from the fridge in his inventory ... both replicators would permit me to store it there. So then I went hunting through the house for the bowl of ambrosia that was used in the replication the first time, was unable to find it. So the weeping and gnashing of teeth began again, but this time by the Watcher ... my ambrosia maker was dead, I had plenty of death fish and life fruit and had decided the husband of gen 2 would be the follow up chef after Aggie, so he used brain enhancement machines to get to level 10 cooking skill and read ambrosia. Thomas was given his 10th or 11th skill opportunity - to be a bouncer at the theatre during a performance, so he did it ... and Charlie went to work at the Diner in the valley, but on his return, Charlie prepared ambrosia for his father in law, and Thomas ate it..

Most of the family were at home. Even though the Frios invited Charlie to a party, none in the family felt like celebrating. They did do a family party for Paprika becoming a toddler, and her mother and uncles made her museum pieces.

As we come to an end of this update, Agnes returned to a visit, and Thomas and Agnes renewed their love.

On Thursday of week 8, Grimm returned to the household ... this time for Sebastian Cat. The Simmons Family's Feline Fisher of Foreign Fishies. Sebastian had lived a full life and caught many many fish, as well as the odd rodent, bird, bug, turtle, snake and lizard.

While some would refer to him as 'Just a Kitten' to the Simmons family, he was much, much more ...

and it seemed that Grimm agreed with their sentiments.

Grimm returned yet again to the Simmons household for another soul. It was 5pm on the Tuesday of Week 10. In the extremely extremely long experience of this Watcher with the life and death of Christopher Steel, this one was unexpected, as Grimm came right on Christopher Steel's 90th birthday. He usually lives well into his 100's in most of my games. Christopher was fishing (which is not unusual for Christopher in my games).

Still, Christopher was ready to go, he had supermaxed gardening thanks to the family green dragon, Reverend Green. He was also well on his way to supermaxing fishing. He had maxed photography as well. He became a witch later in life, maxed alchemy, made quite a number of elixirs - friendship potions, advanced friendship potions, invigorating potions and potent invigorating potions - and became quite skilled at burning the backsides of paparazi with his fireblast skill (then he 'took pity' on the paparazi and ice froze them). He got a nice looking tombstone out of it.


Aggie was the only family member (living or dead) who attended the death. The others were sculpting (Will and Jimmie), painting (Olivia), working (Charlie), trying to sneak his way to the fishing pond (GRRRR Thomas), waiting for the ghostly cat to finish eating (Fred) or doing experiments FOR SCIENCE! (Paprika) and too busy to attend the death (they still got the family member died moodlet though).


Christopher's tombstone became an urn and got moved downstairs (picture to come) along with his photo and portrait, and his possessions - fish, fish and more fish and various fruits, vegetables and seeds - got passed onto Thomas.


Apparently ghostly cats need to eat as well ... Grimm mustn't feed them in the afterlife. Fred's curled up in the background, sleeping.

Shortly after the death of one of her grandfathers (yes, Christopher's clone son, Charlie is Paprika's father) Paprika had success! HAZZAH! She handed her latest experiment from the chemistry table to thin air and ... seemed Ken wasn't imaginary, after all! (Maybe the watcher should have named her Barb or Barbie instead ...

Olivia, her brothers (Jimmie and Will) and her husband (Charlie) are all Young Adults, and Fred Cat joined us shortly after he was an adult cat, so next deaths are a way off at this stage. Barring some kind of accident, of course. Will I never learn?

I haven't forgotten about this ... 8 weeks off work for Long Service Leave saw me try a lot of different things. Despite my intentions, playing my dynasties just didn't grab my fancy. Now that I'm off Long Service Leave, I may have time for the dynasties once more. hazzah!
