The Gems of the Valley Immortal Dynasty

Our Founder is Topaz Gem. She wants to be a Culinary Librarian and master the Cooking Skill and Culinary Career ...

As she found herself in Sunset Valley, she was going to visit Aggie C ... but Aggie got herself a job! Yes, she was the stylist for the valley this game, and Artie was the Tattoo Artist ... and while I knew that didn't mean she couldn't join the family, I wanted something ... different ... and so did Topaz. She saw a Sim that her watcher didn't recognise.

Topaz - "What an interesting hat!"

She followed him around, and they said sweet nothings to each other about the flowers that bloom in the spring*

His name, he told her, was Leon Hurst, and she fell hard for him ... but he was ... less than enthusiastic. He was a loner who loved his own company, he told her.
Leon - "No, I can't stay, I heard that the Jonasim brothers are in town ... I have to catch them in concert ..." and he left hurriedly.
She was the proud owner of a block of land and a sleeping bag, but she heard that anyone could just sleep in the fire station if they wanted to, so she spent a night or two there.

She saw the sights of the valley during the days, and met up with Morgana and Thornton Wolff and was invited into their house by Morgana, who showed off her artwork to Topaz.

Topaz also saw some of the locals taking up Sim Fu

And visit the local theatre (this is the daughter of Claire Ursine, unborn at start of the game)

With the promise that Morgana could pursue her artwork full time and not work as a bedpan cleaner, Topaz was joined on her property by Morgana and Thornton, the couple agreeing to sell Thornton's fancy car. Topaz told them over dinner one night about Leon Hurst and her desire to marry him.

Topaz showed pictures of him to the Wolffs, and Thornton shook his head.

Thornton - "That man is bad news, Topaz. He's been sneaking around the bushes and trees around work, trying to get a picture of Nancy, he sells celebrity photos to The Daily Sim, and some of the other rags. Apparently Nancy Landgraab is his latest target. You really don't want to get mixed up with him. He'll never marry you. He'll never move in. You won't be able to have a nooboo with him. Trust me on this, and I'm not saying that because I don't like kids, either."

Morgana - "Thornton knows what he's talking about, T. If he says this man is no good, he's no good. No matter how charming his hat is."

Topaz - "But he has my heart, he's my romantic interest, he found me irresistible, he told me himself ... but he never even gave me the option to ask him to go steady, or to move in. *SIGHS* But maybe you are right, and there's someone else out there for me. But who?"

Morgana - "Lots of eligible men around, dear. Look around town, visit the parks, the gym, the library, stroll by the theatre and if you get desperate go via the vampire lounge or supernatural hang out that's recently opened ... someone will be around for you ... just don't try to get a vampire or fairy or werewolf."

Topaz - "I thought the Watcher disabled them and only kept witches"

Watcher - "I did. Also you are on a single lunar stage ... no zombies for you!"

The next day, Topaz left early, leaving Morgana to her painting and Thornton to get the carpool to work. Could you imagine a car pool that had Nick Alto and Nancy Landgraab as part of it?

Topaz walked, visiting the sites mentioned by Morgana, she improved her cooking abilities by reading about it in the local library, she undertook a cooking course at the bistro and she rested for a while in Central Park her great partner hunt was underway. She needed someone who could fish, who could garden, who would help her make a nooboo and who would be faithful. Oh and if he had a hat ... even better.

Then she saw ... him ... and she thought her hunt was complete. No hat, but he fished, and she figured with a bit of help, he could garden as well ... oh and he made a garden salad to die for. Was he possibly the one?

She asked him ... he said yes and agreed to move in ...

They couldn't keep their hands off each other, while Morgana studiously painted.

Then one day, Topaz and Morgana shared exciting news with each other as they ate fruit for breakfast one day.

Morgana - "T ... I'm pregnant" as she ate her 10th apple.

Topaz - "So am I", as she managed to force another watermelon down her throat.

The ladies smiled and hugged ... even as they were in their maternity wear, then they returned to cooking and painting.

But then, one night after dinner ...

Thornton - "I will be working late at the office tomorrow night, Morgana. I have been offered a project which will mean more money for us and the babies. I'm the only real wage earner in the household, particularly while you two are pregnant, and Chris is out all night fishing."

Christopher - "I'll have you know, I was successful at the graveyard last night, even if I was startled by Opal, poor little girl, she drowned. I struggled, but I got it, a 20kg death fish. It was a mighty fight between sim and fish, but I ended up victorious. See, a picture. Besides, this go at a minimum of 200 a fish, 10 of them, and I can fish from the pond out back for them."

Morgana - "Well, I trust you, Thornton, and the money would help us with the little ones. T, a visit to the spa tomorrow? Mine seems to be punching and kicking."

Topaz - "Mine too, its a date."

Oh, so many things I've forgotten about! And I wasn't missing them until now - Culinary Librarian and tattoo artists and sleeping at the firehouse and Sim Fu in China and fishing for deathfish and finding seeds at the cemetery (I know that one isn't in here, but fishing for deathfish reminded me of it) and Christopher Steele!!

I'm hooked. Looking forward to the next chapter!

Thanks @GlazeyLady thankfully fires are now a thing in the past for me. The contractually obligated post containing a picture of Chris finding seeds at the graveyard is coming up.

I picked up a slight mistake in my opening post - Morgana/Thornton - son (apple diet); Topaz/Chris - daughter (watermelon diet).

So that people aren't too bored ... here's a picture of the outside of the house

Thornton - Morgana, honey, I've got to work late again tonight

Morgana frowned at her phone, it seemed he had to work late most nights these weeks.

"Put the phone away, M" Topaz said patiently, "relax, you're here to relax, you need to do what's best for the nooboo growing inside you."

"Thanks T, but Thornton tells me he'll be working late again. He's such a good honest man," Morgana said, "I know I shouldn't worry, but I miss him."

"Put the phone on silent, dear," Topaz said, "we're here for the seaweed facials, the soothing salvations, the volcanic clay baths, the mani/pedi/soaks and the deep tissue massages. You won't need your phone."

"But what if ..." Morgana fretted.

"PUT IT AWAY NOW," Topaz said firmly, articulating each word clearly.

Morgana looked at Topaz and did what she was commanded without complaint.

"Thank you M," Topaz said with a slight smile, "you'll thank me for this later, when you've got your healthy nooboo in your lap."

"I know I will, T," Morgana said, "I'm thanking you already."

As the two ladies were indulging, across the valley, Chris was at the graveyard doing the monster mash collecting seeds and flowers.

Firstly the death flower,

and then a number of different seeds.

He longed to be a father. He was very happily married and he got to spend his days fishing and gardening. And he got paid for fishing! Not a bad life all things considered. He also had a little pal to help with the gardening ... Green Eggs 'N' Ham was a marvel in the garden, the plants grew much quicker and were always fertilized, and sometimes the little guy even summoned treasure for him. Play and feeding time could be a bit dangerous if Chris wasn't careful, the little guy had sharp teeth, and even though he wasn't a red dragon, he didn't totally forget how to breathe. But a nooboo, that would be a great addition. And if he lived long enough, he'd even get to see his nooboo's nooboo
