Rodents not giving postcards

Anybody else getting this glitch where the game says a rodent got you a postcard while adventuring, but never actually get the postcard?  Is there a way to fix that?

My hedgehog only sent my sim one postcard in 10+ days, so I gave up and sold the darn hedgehog's cage.
I did find the postcard in household inventory, though, rather than in the mailbox like the regular postcards.
I'm never trying to collect those again! lol

@Technomage, yes, do check household inventory before you give up on your pet. I think that's where the postcards go.

I already know that rodent cards are supposed to be in the household inventory; the problem is I stop seeing them in there.
