DeviceConfig.log is Empty ~ Tips:
« on: February 24, 2022, 05:22:33 PM »
If your DeviceConfig.log is empty, try these tips to see if they help.

1. Make sure the game is using the Nvidia card via the Nvidia Control Panel. (If you have an Nvidia video card)

2. Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date and that you are using the correct drivers. Click here ➺ https://help.ea.com/en/help/pc/pc-graphics-troubleshooting - for information on updating graphics drivers.

3. It is possible that your anti-virus is flagging the files and blocking the game's access to them. If that's the case, you will need to search on your anti-virus to allow Sims 3, Origin or Steam.

4. If the above doesn't help, it's suggested to manually edit the files one at a time and try the first one edited to see if that works, and if it does edit the other one and test again. See these guides listed below for help.

If your card isn't added to the current graphics files, let us know your card's name and device ID and we'll add it and upload a new copy of the files.

If you're not able to edit your graphics files, try un-hiding files/folders in File Explorer and place a check mark by File Name Extensions. This will allow you to see files and folders in File Explorer and have permission to change the file name extensions when needed.

–◆- Un-hide Files/Folders: In File Explorer, click View in the menu in the top left.  Select Hidden Items - This will show or hide the files and folders that are marked as hidden. You want to turn that on so you can see your game's install folder and files.

–◆- File Name Extensions: Check or tick this on, so file name extensions can be edited.
