I installed the game yesterday for the first time in years, since I got a new computer and I wanted to experience it with nice specs. It's all new and fresh form the factory, with a new savefile to re-experience the game.
So I don't know if it's the fact that I started impregnating every sim in the neighbourhood one after another or what, but after a bunch of hours of the game working perfectly it just started crashing all the time. It lasted like 6 hours and then it's started to crash every 10 minutes or so. It doesn't chug or anything, the game works nice and smooth and suddently it's gone. No freezing, no weirdness, no warning whatsoever.
I've done everything for the game to work as smoothly as possible, every recommended mod, every tweak, everything created by modders and fans to make the game run better but towards the end of my impregnation campaign, when my sim was about to become an elder, it just gave up on life. I started another save to see if it was a game issue and I played for 30 minutes without an issue so it's this specific savefile. I know people do 100 babies challanges so I'm not sure it's an overpopulation issue (I only have 25 kiddoes total) but it just seems the most likely reason, considering how fast the file went bad.
Although I remember that right before the crashings started the park had an issue where the bathroom was inaccessible, as if it were a neighbours household (it's Sunset Valley's main park, with the tiny two-room bathrooms somewhere in a corner). I forced it to open with Nraas and still couldn't use anything within the walls so I returned it to it's weird inaccessible state because the camera was acting funny. I don't know how or why that happened and if it could have anything to do with the crashes.
I don't mind giving the save up but I don't want the issue to repeat. Does anyone have a clue about what might have happened?
