How do I give a hat to my pre-existing character?

When I'm creating a new Sim, I can give them a hat pretty easily. But when I have a Sim who has just aged up (and therefore gotten a new, randomized wardrobe), I want to go into the dresser and plan the clothes all over again. However, I can't seem to find the option to give my character a hat. I can give him glasses, and even a Jason Vorskee mask, but no hat.

If you mean like a hat with a hairstyle, you have to use the mirror I believe. Sorry I haven’t played ts3 in a while so I might not be right

Auranaris is correct!!  Click any mirror to change Sim's appearance.
