Okay, so I'm making another attempt at the Seven Heroes Dynasty! I didn't fail the first one, but I spent a long time away from it, and realized that while I was working on my 4th hero I had taken nearly as long as it's taking people to finish the entire dynasty. I'm not really worried about finishing super quickly or anything, but it really felt like the dynasty was dragging and I was losing interest and wanted to start a new one. The 7 Heroes Dynasty rules still sounded fun though, so here I am with a new attempt!

Here's Maria Septem. She's good and a genius, and she's going to be a founder of this dynasty.

"So you're just going to plop me on an empty lot in the desert?"

Yup. But I guess I'll build you a quick house.

Maria's first day was spent doing a little collecting, getting a head start on her homework, and meeting a few people at the Britechester library. Oh, and having a few bowls of chips for dinner at the nearby bar. I may have spent a little too much money on the house.

Maria's teen years were fairly uneventful. She got into fitness, because she frequently took jogs to burn off some stressed energy after school.

She ended up with a lot of adult male friends for a teenage girl. But they're great for inviting over to help with homework and school projects.

I think Diego Lobo may have caught on that Maria's only made friends with him to help her with her school science projects.

Once Maria got her three positive character traits in range, I wasted no time in sending her home and aging her up. I didn't want to risk losing that progress towards the Compassionate trait.

Maria picked up the Geek trait. I'm still deciding if I like that outfit on her or not--I thought the blazer with shorts and sneakers look was cute, but I'm not quite sure now that I look at it again. I might end up messing with her wardrobe a little more.

Anyway! Maria is nearly done with her requirements before she can start her project. She completed 7 emotional whims, picked up 7 collectibles, earned 7 scouting badges, and grown 7 plants. She's very close to having level 7 fitness. I think we'll finish it off with catching a few more fish to reach 7 species, and picking up a few more good friends so she has 7. I was thinking I'd enroll her in university, but money's still tight, and I don't know if I want to wait on earning 7 credits.

Good luck with your new start!
Maria's really a cutie and I really like the colors, textures, and structure of Maria's house in Bedrock Straits!
She's doing great so far!

Thank you @oshizu! It's not a style I'm usually very comfortable building and furnishing, but I think it turned out really cute. It blends in pretty well with the other houses in the area I think.

Not too familiar with the Seven Heroes Dynasty, but I looked over the rules and it seems pretty interesting. Curious to see where you go with this!

Good luck on the restart. And there's a scouting-related scholarship so I don't think applying for uni now would be too bad?

I know TS4 saves screenshots as PNGs but for the sake of members with bad internet/limited bandwidth, it's best to post as JPGs. I linked to our existing how-tos but I can also provide a tutorial for quickly doing the same thing in GIMP.

You're right about that scholarship!

Sorry Trip, I thought I had converted my screenshots to JPG but it looks like I forgot that step. I'll make sure that's fixed in my next post.

@Rhoxi I would recommend it! I've played (and never finished, lol) the Immortal and Power of Ten dynasties as well, and I enjoyed them as well, but I really like the variety of goals there are to achieve in the Seven Heroes dynasty. It's fun to develop 7 different sims into everyday (or not-so-everyday) heroes.

Since the last update, Maria has been working on her 7 requirements so she can finally get a start on her project. On Day 15 in-game, she completed her requirements by catching her 7th fish species--a bass, on a dreary day in Brindleton Bay.

Maria quickly sold some fish and collectables to scrounge up 1000 simoleons to adopt the next hero-to-be. This is Mikaela. She has the Recycle Disciple trait.

Maria also joined the astronaut career track. She's going to become an Interplanetary Ambassador by maxing the astronaut career, traveling to Sixam and befriending 7 Sixamites. I think I've only ever played an astronaut Sim once, and that was before Get to Work came about. It sounded like an interesting change.

Maria had to scrounge up some more money to buy a rocket-building kit, and a little more to actually put it together. She called over some friends to spend the day helping her build it.

And away she goes!

There have been a few crash landings. Could they have been prevented by performing more upgrades on the rocket ahead of time? Yeah, but who's got the time and money for that? Expert Simmers like me would rather spend more time and money repairing destroyed rockets.

Anyway, how about our second hero? Mikaela became a scout, of course, and she managed to earn every badge. But man is that fitness badge a pain to achieve for children.

Mikaela did well building her skills. She maxed the social and mental skills, and got some work done on her logic and charisma skills as well. She also completed both the Social Butterfly and Whiz Kid aspirations.

Of course, she also had time for friends. Mikaela managed to make all 7 of her good friends before aging up. Here she is with her BFF, Tracy Stallkamp.

Finally, Mikaela's birthday came along. Maria took her out to Chez Llama to celebrate. They order their meals, waited two in-game hours...then the game glitched and reset them both, and cancelled their order before the food ever came.

So they gave up, went back home, skipped dinner, and Maria pulled the birthday cake out of the fridge.

And there she is! Mikaela picked up the "Good" trait, as any hero should. I let Mikaela stay a teen for a day just long enough to get her high school grade up to an A, then aged her up to a young adult. So I'll show off her young adult makeover in the next update.

The Astronaut career is fun and the crash landing animations are some of my faves in the game. Michaela seems like a real star of a kid. The friendships always feel like an uphill battle.

I forgot about the crash landings being a thing until it happened in this playthrough. I thought I killed my first hero before she even reached hero status. Hahaha. Only a Sim could survive a rocket crash landing, but always have the lurking danger of dying by laughter, embarrassment or anger.

This update is centered largely on Maria. She's still working at the astronaut career, and has finally reached rank 9, Sheriff of the Stars. The promotions for this career feel like they take a looong time. Maria keeps complaining about wanting a vacation, but it isn't happening until she gets that final promotion.

Thankfully, that last promotion is the only missing piece to her project. Maria didn't take very long to max the rocket science skill and add the wormhole generator upgrade to her rocket so she could visit Sixam. It took a few visits to find 7 aliens to befriend, but she pulled it off.

While working on the space project, I actually had Maria multitasking to work on completing a natural science museum, which she completed on Day 44 of gameplay. I don't know how other players complete these projects so quickly! Though I admit the musuem project could have gone a lot quicker if I wasn't fitting it in between her career. But anyway, with that, Maria is officially a hero! Her Natural History Museum is located in Newcrest and contains collections of fish, frogs, fossils, space prints, aliens, metals, and crystals. I forgot to take a picture of the actual building itself, so I'll have to include that next time, but below are shots of the different collections.

Hero number one has been accomplished!

Enough about Maria. Mikaela enrolled in university upon aging up to young adult and is pursuing a distinguished degree in physics. I was intending to have her 7 credits be her last requirement, but I didn't realize how high her logic skill was, and she hit level 7, thus completing her requirements! I'm going to have her finish that degree anyway to get a headstart in the scientist career, because I think I'm going to have her multitask a couple of projects like Maria.

Since Mikaela finished her 7 requirements earlier than expected, I went ahead and had her bring in the 3rd hero. Meet Rylie! She has the lazy trait, which I'll probably end up getting rid of once she earns the reward points to do so. Call it character development. ;)

On the other hand, since it's a re-traiting potion, would I be able to have Mikaela or Maria purchase the potion and give it to Rylie to drink? I can't remember if it's a drinkable potion like the moodlet solver, or if it automatically applies to whoever purchases it.

Well, enough rambling from me. Here's a cute shot of Mikaela and Rylie doing their homework together.

Rylie's childhood was fairly uneventful. She did complete the Social Butterfly aspiration, and earned all of her scouting badges. Here's her unique birthday shot with her family. That's Mikaela's friend Dianna Bheeda in the back at the table.

I feel a little guilty to say that I gave teenaged Rylie a slimming potion with her makeover. But hey, that's what they're there for, right?

Rylie stayed a teenager for a day to earn an A in high school. After school, she promptly went through a phase and did the beloved sassy teenager walk.

It wasn't what Maria felt like seeing after getting home from a long shift at work. But on the bright side, Maria maxed out the astronaut career! That's a second project done for her.

I quickly had Rylie age up to young adult (to Maria's relief).

Rylie has the compassionate, good manners, and responsible character traits. As for her other traits, she has good, foodie, and she traded out "lazy" for "self-assured" with a retraiting potion.

On another note, Mikaela finally graduated with a distinguished degree in physics, with honors!

After graduating, I sent the family on vacation to Selvadorada. Maria has been begging for a vacation anyway, but the real purpose of the trip was for Mikaela to start collecting relics and artifacts. I haven't had a chance to play with the Jungle Adventure pack yet, so this seemed like a good opportunity. I don't have many pictures of the trip, unfortunately, but most of the trip is summed up by the one screenshot I do have.

The family spent three days in Selvadorada, and upon returning home, I had them move into a nice apartment in Uptown. I don't know, I just needed a change, and I don't play with apartments much! I'm not sure how long it'll last, because I do really like having a nice yard with a garden for my sims. The apartment does however have plenty of space for a laboratory space for Mikaela. Perfect, because I had her join the scientist career!

In case I didn't introduce enough new things at once, I also had Rylie join the politician career, and adopt our four hero. Why does the adoption agency insist on sending their children with these terrible hats?

Meet Kristina. She's a spunky little redhead with the active trait. And absolutely adorable! I love that red hair.

Aw, what a cute kid! I'm still new to this whole apartment/vacation lot thing too. I should make more of an effort to get off my home lot.

I have a habit of staying cozy on my home lot too! Haha. It breaks things up a little to move around though.
