Can't find Pomegranates

Guys, I have a situation.

My Sim just arrived in France for an 11-day long vacation. On the second day, he gets a quest which ends up requiring 5 pomegranates which are found in Egypt. I checked the cafeteria, there weren't any. So, now I can't quest for the remaining 9 days? Unless I cancel this one, not knowing when it'll pop up again - or will that even work, now that I have made some progress with it? Should I really cancel the vacation after just two days?

Any suggestions that won't state I'm an idiot for not bringing pomegranates?

Apparently there is at least one pomegranate tree in France:

In France, there's a house in the northwest (the Pivert family lives there when you first visit) that has at least one pomegranate tree.  You can check every day to find out whether it's harvestable.
