Program that would allow to open a mod file?

  For those of you Simmers who are using Mac...I'm wondering if you can help me with something...

    I'm Simming with a MacBook Air that is relatively new {I say "relatively" because it was released a year ago}. Downloaded a mod from MTS earlier today and unzipped it using a piece of software called The Unarchiver. Because Sims mod files are third-party and we don't have built-in ware for opening the ".package" files {versus the "pkg" files} I'm not able to do anything with downloaded mods yet...

    So now I'm looking for software that will allow me to open the unzipped mod .package file...

 Any ideas on this??...

I am not a Mac user, but you might try a zip program made for Mac computers.

   It's not the zip program that I'm looking for because the mod file is already unzipped...

   What I'm actually looking for is program that would allow me to open the mod file. View its contents. And utilize them...

    Any ideas on this??...

Thank you for the correction and sorry for the misunderstanding.

I am not sure of what program will help read mod files for Sims 4 on a Mac. You might, if you haven't yet ask over at the official forum on their mod board.

You might want to try looking over at Sim4studio they have a program that works for both PC and Mac.
