Exterior stairs to basement

Is it not possible to have an exterior staircase to a basement anymore? I have tried everything I can think of. There's not enough room in my house to put a staircase going down. Ideas?

It should still be possible -- I have a set of stairs going down to the basement's sunken garden outside the house. On the other hand, trying to have those stairs in certain spots or changing the direction of the stairs certainly does create issues. What exactly are you trying to do, and what message exactly are you getting?

I’m trying to have like an open area like I used to do before terrain manipulation to have a door and windows  the terrain tools won’t let me have that open area.

Hm. Are you trying to do something like this, and looking in terrain tools for how to do it? If so, it's not a matter of terrain tools, but rather, making a basement room, clicking the room from above until you get "delete ceiling" as an option the way you would for walls, floor, etc, and deleting the ceiling.

I wasn't looking in terrain tools though to do it. The terrain just made the edges pull the ground up. I'll try it again tomorrow using your method.

It still does it. I can't create a "drop down" room anymore either it seems.
