Thermostat keeps getting set to cool from warmer

Its just been in my current game. I thought maybe it was a new character in the family (married in) who has the trait Green Fiend. Makes sense. So I put the thermostat in a room shes locked out off. Far away from the wall she can get near since there is a remote. I tried to get her into the room to use it and shes locked out for sure. So...this is making me nuts. Any clues would be appreciated!
