Forum Posting Issue

Hey,

During the past month or two, posting on this forum is giving me a wee bit of trouble. After I hit 'Post', it takes quite a while for the post to actually get posted. One time, it actually timed out and failed completely. There is nothing new on my end - same computer, internet speed, host, etc.

Any ideas why this is happening?

I've been having loading issues with the forum. I figured at the time it was my internet connection. However, I'm not having any loading issues on other sites. Just the forum.

I have pmed Carl about this and will let him know about this thread. I'm sure he'll be able to explain better what's going on.

Im investigating this. It seems to be some sort of leak that gradually gets worse. I made some changes today to try to fix it @Nindigo  as MrsFlynn brought it to my attention. Let me know if it's improving and to anyone else please post any experiences with slowness here. It seems like stuff loads fine but it lags when trying to add anything like a message, comment or post.

@Carl Things have definitely improved for me, but the posting speed is still not quite the same as it used to be.

I know speeds aren't what they used to be, we flat out do not rent as much hardware as we used to.. however I am hoping to hear people haven't had 3-5 seconds to post. I think a big story update makes sense but the average post should be less than a second ideally.

The loading and posting times seem to be fine to me. Even when other sites are slow loading, the forum is always for the most part quick to load.

Bumping this because we seem to have issues. I need any reports from people if you get an error page. If what I just did fixed it, that'd be even better.

I have had errors all day this is the first time I have been able to get on to the forum its 4.44 PM in the UK.

I've been able to get onto the site intermittently since early morning UK time but there have been long stretches of 'site unavailable'.

Like I said in my emails, it could be the influx of visitors since the release of Eco Lifestyle, but I will keep you updated if it happens again.
