Problems with my kitten
« on: April 08, 2020, 09:30:09 AM »
First of all, I have everything but the Moschino stuff pack, and I just got the new patch. The only mods I have are downloaded are custom content for the Sim's appearance.

I have aging turned off in my game because there is so much I want my sims to do!  I'm trying to create a legacy family  This may be my problem.

Can kittens use stairs?  I just moved my family into a much needed bigger house, and it's beautiful, and I love it.  But it has stairs and the kitten will not go up the stairs into the house.  He is almost constantly orange, and he has run off the lot three times.  So I have put food, a litter box and toys in front of the house outside.   It's such a waste of time to have someone run and get him.  Anyway, he is orange right now, and when I ask him what is wrong it says he is hungry.  His hunger is almost full, and he's sitting right in front of his food bowl, which is filled!!!!!!  What am I supposed to do?  I can continue on playing this way, but I really don't want to.  If aging him up to adult will let him use the stairs I will turn aging back on.  I am hoping this is not a weird bug and that aging him up will solve the problem.

Thanks in advance for any and all assistance!

Please everyone stay safe and stay healthy!

Kittens cannot do stairs.  They have to be carried up and down.  Since you have food where he can get to it, try having one of you sims call him to eat, and see if he eats.  Sometimes my cats won't eat until they are called to the bowl.

Also they are like toddlers in that weather can scare them if you have weather effects turned on.  Maybe he is doing what toddlers do sometimes - they are starving and exhausted but when an older sim checks on them they ask to play or for a story.

And being an adult would let him use the stairs.

Good luck!

I've tried pick him up, but my Sim immediately puts him down.  I have to use the Call Over interaction to get the kitten to follow me from the park he has run away to.  I'm going to turn aging on so he will hopefully stop running away. It drives me crazy that for two hours my one  Sim is standing around doing nothing while the other Sim gets the kitten.  I am a bit of a control freak with my Sims, and I feel time is precious in the game.  There is just so much I want to do with my Sims.

Does anyone know about this running away problem?  I cannot help him until he turns orange.

I forgot to ask.  How long does it take for a kitten to age up?

Off tope: Is there a way to edit a post you've made?  I looked but I didn't see it.

normally just 1-2 days.  kitten stage is only 1 day but then the game has to get around to aging them up

..not that I see either...
