Question about aging

I turned off aging completely in the options menu.

And currently.im playing with a sim I created until.i get used to.the different features of the dlc.

When I go.to make.the super sim can I still control making my sim age by making a cake or is it one of.those things where once I get my young sim where I want them on skills I will.have to turn aging back on?

Placing and blowing out candles on a cake will age up your sim even with aging off.
