Paintings selling for a lot less

I use to be able to sell paintings on the starter easel for about 2000-5000 simoleons (above 10k if they were a masterpiece) when inspired with the the marketable and creative visionary traits. Now my level 10 painter who has the best easel, is very inspired when painting and i have the marketable and creative visionary traits can barley make 2000 off of each painting (only about 6k for masterpieces under the same circumstances). While this is still a decent amount of money, did EA change something to make paintings worth less or something or am i just going insane?

I don't believe EA did anything to change the paintings worth. I think it's jus the low end of the price range. I have my sims with the same problem then after like they sell oddles of painting in the 2k range they sell a few in the upper ranges. It seems like it's a hit or miss. I will keep looking and see if I find something new or maybe someone else can shed some different colors on this.

A sim with the Marketable Trait will produce much higher paintings and anything else they craft too and although this is randomized you should be seeing higher priced paintings more often than not. There was talk about Maxis having nerfed the prices of paintings but it has not been confirmed (as far as I know) nor in any patch notes.

I have noticed this with my level 10 painter who also has the best easel, relevant perks, inspiring decor etc. I was usually making at least $2000 for a large painting, now masterpieces can go for $800 etc. She is also a 5 star celebrity, not sure if that increases what she can sell paintings for though
