Success... but still a lot to learn
« on: December 19, 2010, 12:41:46 AM »
Hi Everyone,

I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum board to post this in (mods please feel free to move this thread/post if you wish :)), but I have to share this with you.  Thanks to the guides on this site, and a fair amount of patience, I've finally managed to improve my playing ability with the game.  My Sim, Carl Damos, has risen to become the CEO of his company.  He has also met a wonderful Sim lady, whom he married, and now he's about to become a father.  His wife, Tracy, (originally was named Tori, but I changed it), is working her way towards becoming the Leader of the Free World.  Both Carl and Tracy hope to be able to successfully raise their child/children, so that they can become productive members of Sunset Valley.

Oh yes, and I've managed to design and build their house for them.  I've had to remodel in order to add a nursery, and I'm happy to say the remodeling turned out fine.  I'm very proud, (and a bit envious) of their house.  I haven't finished setting it up for them completely yet, but it's coming a long slowly. :)

Anyway I just wanted to share my successes with the community here. I love this game, and this site has helped me get so much more pleasure out of it.  I can't wait to see what lies ahead for Carl and Tracy, hopefully they'll live long and happy lives.

Cheers,

Raven

Congrats! I remember just cheating through games and never making it to Generation 2 and then I found the guide, a week or two later and the First Generation of Characters arrived in my game and thanks to this site and the support it gives I am now at Generation 6. This site is really great at getting new players off the ground, I didn't realise this game was so fun until I read the Guide!  :)

Nice work! I'm curious as to how your house looks now. Pics?

Unfortunately I had computer problems and lost the save games. Having said that I've created two new Sims and managed to build them some nice starter houses.

EDIT: I've figured out how to take the screen shot's but I'm having problems posting them.  I'll try and get them up.

OK here are the screenshots, the first three images are of  my Mad Scientist Sim, Sarah's house, and the rest are of my Painter/Photographer Sim, Stephen's house.  Sarah's house is fully upgraded and is based off the guide.  Stephen's house is in the process of being upgraded, and is based on a house I lived in twenty years ago.

Your house is really nice.  Unfortunately, we are only allowed 5 screenshots on the posts.  We do have this other thread you can post some pictures on also.  Keep up the good work.

Thanks for pointing that thread out to me Saltypaws, I've edited the post and removed a few images, so hopefully I should be in compliance with forum rules now.

Best Wishes,

Raven

No problem, it is easy to get carried away posting our pictures.  You did a really good job on your house and will be looking forward to seeing more. :)
