Becoming a celebrity in other towns like Riverview is actually a nice challenge - so far, I've only met two celebrities who had more than one star (and both of those only had two). By becoming an Architect, I reached level 4 fairly quickly, but reaching level 5 is taking ages! And I kind of like it.

But man, the "public humiliation" thing is ruthless. I used to have 51 friends, and now I've lost all of them except for the 14 who were my clients as an Architect. I detonated a car, I got in a fight, I couldn't pay the bills because I accidentally blew up my entire house and had to replace every single furniture item (and using all my money, I could replace about half of it), and I cheated on my boyfriend by woohooing with an occult in public (Triple whammy!).

So everybody but his old clients pretty much hate my sim. And after the explosion, he's also broke and always sad. Before that, he was popular, rich and awesome. Man, how quickly things can change.

How in the world did you accidently blow up your entire house?

:D My sim has blown up the junkyard building once, and their own car, but never their own house. That's too funny.

Let's just say I have now learned that huge scrap piles + explosives + house is a very, very bad combination.

I found a nice formula for making a 5 star celebrity sim. Two 3 star celebrities getting married makes 2 5 star celebs. If being a 5 star celebrity is your angle, then get your stars up high as possible, then make sure the person your going to marry has high stars as well. Then when you both do social interactions then romantic ones, you both will make it to 5 star status when you get married.

Yeah or befriend one celeb then Marry a high level one and you know what comes next. Then you will be level 4-5 in no time!

Honestly though, don't you think there should be an option to turn celebrity stars off in a game? It is waaaaaay too easy to become a celebrity and it's so annoying. It's actually harder to avoid becoming a celebrity that it is trying to become one. Also, this may already have come up, sorry if it has, but have you guys noticed that sims can be publically disgraced from having a child out of wedlock (game's words, not mine)? I actually find that pretty disgraceful in itself. Not like it happens irl; were Brad Pitt and Angelina publically disgraced when they had Shiloh?? Or the twins?? I think it makes the game sound really judgmental! Thoughts?

Well, to be fair, the game goes by in different times. "Our" times would be those of The Sims 2, kind of, and The Sims 3 is pretty much 60 years before, so the concepts are different, and people may be judgemental. Although it is not even our world, so we can't expect them to have a culture just like ours. On another hand, it is just a game and EA can be blamed for any kind of difamation they put in their games.

As for your "celebrity-off" question, I agree. There is a "Supress Opportunities" option, why not "Supress Stardom"?

On a sidenote, reaching 3 stars is stupidly easy, but 4-stars outside Bridgeport (assuming you didn't put Bridgeport famous families into the other neighborhoods) are much more unusual. The only 4-star sim in my main game is my Vampire, and as for all the sims not in my household, the top celebrity status they ever get is 3 stars.

It was a "deliver a painting to ____" and "earn money and an increased relationship with _____" that was all the rewards said, turns out that person was a Celeb and so getting an increased relationship with them got me some stars.
